Our Story

Conklin Leather is a veteran-owned leather shop located near the town of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. It doesn’t get more American, or cowboy, than that!

What started out as a hobby soon became a passion.

I started building tack for friends and family when I realized that the availability of top-quality gear has dwindled over the years. What used to be an industry chock-full of small shops handcrafting phenomenal tack has become an industry of outsourcing to foreign countries and using inferior materials for a mediocre finished product. I want to get back to where we were.

With the exception of one industrial sewing machine, our products are crafted completely by hand. You can be certain that every piece of tack you receive was painstakingly made. Each tooling mark was meticulously and lovingly placed, one-by-one, with a set of traditional stamps and a maul. The only corners we cut are out of leather. We are an analog shop in a digital world and we like it that way.

We are a small, budding shop in remote Wyoming. All of our sales are performed online. That said, we stand behind our products just as much as the big guys, if not more.

My wife, Victoria, the extrovert in the family, handles the social media side of things.

We give all glory to the good Lord for the blessings in our lives. Should you ever need encouragement or prayer, please let us know. We would be honored to share our faith.
